From Kowtow's inception, they have put people and the planet first, with their commitment to only working in a transparent Fairtrade supply chain, using only Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified cotton and working with Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) certified manufacturers to ensure the health and safety of workers. This year Kowtow became B Corp certified. Kowtow’s goal is to be 0% plastic in 2023, moving away from the fashion industry's dependence on synthetic (plastic) materials. This is challenging but we make decisions everyday to choose natural, renewable and recyclable materials in our clothing, packaging and workroom. We use circular thinking in our design and production process, taking a reductive approach to eliminate unnecessary components and reduce waste. To support the longevity of our clothing we offer a free repair programme and take back garments at the end of their useful life to divert them from landfill and we are working on developing a re-sell programme.
