When Ralph's second flight to Denver is canceled, he gives Morgan a place to stay at Jennifer's.
Jennifer is initially hesitant to take in Morgan, but she permits him to stay since she needs a cook to prepare a turkey for Brian. They quickly realize that they are very different individuals. Jennifer is annoyed by how daring and risky he is, while Morgan thinks Jennifer is a cynical control freak because she is dating the rich but materialistic Richard Windom. Ralph believes they are an ideal match and attempts to stop Jennifer from sending Morgan away.
Ralph has stolen his passport just as Jennifer is preparing to drop him off at the airport. Jennifer and Morgan spend the entire day together and develop a relationship. With great difficulty and illegal actions, Morgan can buy Brian the one Christmas present he desires: a rocket wheel and a rare bicycle. Later that night, on Christmas Eve, Morgan convinces Brian to believe in Santa Claus by climbing onto the roof and posing as one of Santa's elves. Meanwhile, Jennifer and Richard get engaged at a formal celebration.
Morgan is dismayed by the news and departs after hearing it. Jennifer is enraged when she discovers the truth but softens as Ralph informs her that Morgan nearly committed suicide on the roof while attempting to convince Brian to believe in Christmas again. Jennifer finally breaks off the engagement after being persuaded by Ralph and Morgan's assessment of Richard and realizing she is in love with Morgan. She hurries to the airport in an attempt to prevent Morgan from departing. They eventually become a couple.
This is the third of four original Christmas films premiered in 2008 on the Hallmark Channel.
